As a replacement mount it is working great. However there is the fact i need to buy it in the first place. The connectors in my first unit wore out after about a year and a half. So i got this to make it so i could charge and us the GPS. While the new one is working great i am bothered by the fat that the connections were so weak that I ended up needing a new one

The charger is convenient since I use my Nuvi 650 most frequently as a pedestrian. Who wants to have to get it in and out of the car or keep the computer on for charging? So it is worth the price for me. Product quality is excellent - what can go wrong with a charger? It should have been included with the original purchase along with a carry strap and case since Garmin promotes the Nuvi for handheld use.

Great price and excellent quality. Holds a phone, GPS, satellite radio, etc securely without covering controls or charging ports. Spring clamp hooks to the car's air vent- screw and adhesive options also included. I opted for this style as I didn't have to have a bulky case or clip attached to my phone. The whole unit just sits in the car and you pop your device in and go- it is super easy to remove your device too. I love it!

HELLO AGAIN AMAZON FANS EVERYWHERE!!!!
So, a few weeks ago, my wife gets into her car, looks around for the GPS'S mount and cord only to find that they are not there; long sory short - some low life got into her car, took the bean bag mount, the power cord, and a cassette adapter for her mp3 player.
Replacing the mount and adapter is not too hard on the wallet; and we were able to quickly pick up a 12 volt power cord with a mini USB end from R+dio Sh+ck to hold us over for the GPS (hated it btw, the GPS detects it as being hooked to a pc and only after a minute or two finally displays the maps).
We got an idea what the cost of the cord alone was going to be a year or so ago when researching the GPS (model 265Wt) and were not looking forward to shelling out well over $100 for a new one. So it was a pleasant surprise to find the cord here at a decent discount.
Mind you, there was never a thought in our minds to just skip the more expensive power cord for a cheaper non traffic version; we like this cord a whole lot.
We ordered the cord from AMAZON, it came very quickly, was gratefully received, and already has been put to use.
Doing research, before we bought our GPS with the free traffic option, I read numerous reviews, here and elsewhere, complaining primarily about two things:
- The traffic service is Ad supported
- The coverage is not in every area.
On the first point (to the spoiled little anarchists out there) I would like to mention a couple of things some folks may have encountered: Broadcast TV & Broadcast Radio. The last time I checked these 'Free' entities used commercials to pay for themselves. Not only that they do it in a VERY ANNOYING AND OFTEN LOUD BLARING WAY.
Not so with the ads I have seen on the GPS; in fact it has never been more than a little banner that pops up for a very short while then goes away again. Unlike a radio ad that you are basically forced to sit through before you can resume listing to the broadcast, or a TV ad that takes up the whole screen and again forces you to sit through it, the traffic banner does not take up more than maybe 1/4 inch of the screen, the maps are still there for you to see, the routing is not interrupted & no one is yelling at you to buy their junk. If that is too intrusive for you then either pay extra for a ad free traffic service or use your cell phone.
Which brings me to the second gripe people have: coverage area.
Do you condemn a cell phone manufacturer because their phones dont work in areas where there is no service??
I am old enough to remember TV before cable or satellite where you sometimes only had a few stations available to watch as well as taking long drives and having to scan the dial on the radio to find something to listen to after driving out of a stations broadcast range. Look at us now; there are so many options available to us with satellite radio, mp3 players, etc; you do not have to spend a moment of your life in silence again.
Like TV and Radio, the money goes where the people and demand are. This service is still fairly new and over time, as more and more people use it, the service will expand as well.
Pros and Cons......
Other than the cost of the cord I can not think of any real negatives; and even that is understandable.
As for pros, I really like how it gives you a heads up in advance of possible traffic jams ahead. Our GPS, along with the traffic icon turning from Green to Yellow to Red, even will say "Traffic Ahead".
The GPS then automatically directs us off the route we are on and takes us around the congestion and then back on our original route.
No matter how you slice it, dice it, or mix it - other than the cost of the device itself - the service is free. Although we always have the GPS on when we travel, if I had to pay a subscription fee, I would not use the service; I just do not travel enough in congestion prone areas to warrant the additional cost.
Although coverage is not 100% nation wide, where it works it works well; it has pulled us out of more than one traffic mess.
Extremely easy to use: plug it in and go.
If this cord gets stolen as well we will be back for another.
Have a Magical Day!

What's in the Box Dashboard mount, arm attachment, and owner's manual
This review is from: Garmin Portable Friction Mount (Electronics)
I justed pulled my Nuvi 660 off the window attachment, the ball just popped right out, then pushed it onto this ball. It works great, even has a lock/unlock, so you can slide the GPS out of the base easily, or lock it into place. It's easy to move the GPS to get just the right angle but it stays put once It's how I like it. I don't have too much trouble with the unit sliding around. I have a large, flat dash and if it were going anywhere, there's nothing to stop it, but it stays where I put it(I'm not a speeder and don't take turns sharper than I have to). As I live in California where I can't use the window attachment, I wish it would have come with this option. I wouldn't want to stick sticky tape on my leather dash. So far, I"m real happy with it.
UPDATE: After a month or so driving around with this thing on my dash, I'm as happy as ever. It hasn't moved at all, over pumps, up or down really steep hills, even with the power cord pulling on it (as I have it plugged into my cigarette lighter all the time). It's light enough and small enough to move easily and tuck away, it doesn't get in the way at all when I'm driving. I think it's perfect and I love it.

(What's this?) ***** Update, 24-12-2011 *****
We just came back from a thousand mile (each way) road trip. As I had anticipated, the GPS unit and the dashboard mount had not moved at all from their location for the duration of the trip. This mount keeps performing as advertised, at least for my particular setup.
***** Original Review *****
Over the years I have become somewhat addicted to my GPS navigator. I like to use it even when I am completely familiar with the roads that I am traveling as it provides me with the driving information that can be very useful (such as the real-time driving conditions and traffic). However, keeping a GPS attached to your windshield is a thief-magnet, and yet taking it off the windshield all the time is a bit of a hassle. The dashboard mount is intended to deal with those issues. I've just got this Amazon Basics dashboard mount, and so far it has worked for me just as advertised.
After reading the earlier reviews, I was a bit concerned that this dashboard mount would not rest securely on my dashboard. I use it with Garmin Nuvi GPS navigator and I drive Honda Civic. Honda's dashboard is fairly smooth, so I was concerned that my GPS navigator would fly off every time I accelerate or decelerate. However, after driving for a few days I am happy to report that during all of the driving it has not moved an inch. I suspect that on a curvier dashboard there would be some problems with stability, but I wouldn't be able to tell this unless I tried driving in a different car.
The mount is also very well designed and built. It doesn't feel cheap, and yet it is very competitively priced. Overall I am very satisfied with this dashboard mount.

This review is from: Arkon SM517 Windshield Mount for 7-Inch Tablets (Personal Computers)
I am honestly surprised at how great a device this is. The suction pad will stick to almost anything -- and I tried! I put it in all sorts of different places all around the house. And it seals on very securely, as if it were bolted onto the surface. It seals/unseals very nicely, so it will be no problem to take it off the windshield and put it back on again every time you use the car. The joints both have tightening screws which will allow you to prevent the positioning from slipping. It looks like they won't start slipping over time, either, because they are secured in place with teeth.
After sticking it to all sorts of surfaces around the house, I realized it would actually be useful in many areas. Stick it to a table and watch a video while you eat or do paperwork, stick it to a counter and use it as a recipe reference, stick it to the mirror and watch something while you get ready, or stick it to something near your exercise machine. I have a feeling I'll either be bringing this with me everywhere, or buying more.
It also fits smart phones in portrait mode. Very nice.

This is an excellent window mount and works well for my Escort 9500ix.
Unfortunately it does not withstand the extreme heat which can occur (especially in summer months)in the front windshield area of your car.
Mine worked great for almost one year and then the suction cup separated from the plastic mounting bracket due to the heat.
I'm replacing it with the beanbag type mount.

The Blade of the knife has been constructed from 440 Stainless Steel with a tanto point. The sheath is tough green nylon with a belt loop. The knife includes a magnesium rod fire starter.
This review is from: 7" Hunting Knife with Fire Starter (Misc.)
I was not expecting much when I ordered this knife. I was very surprised. It is a great full tang knife. fits well in a survival, or hunting pack. It does need a little sharpening, and maybe a re wrapping on the handle, but most of us would sharpen, and work the handle for our selves any way. At this price you can have one for in the glove box, your hunting pack, where ever. Throw it in and forget it, will be there when you kneed it. The fire steel is of good quality, and the thumb grooves on the back work well as a striker. The sheath is just sewn canvas, and there is no retainer for the striker, but don't let that keep you away from this knife. For $10 this is a way better knife than you will get from any flea market, and being really just on piece of steel will be very durable.

The knife's spring-assisted blade opens easily for use and locks securely for safety. Constructed of quality stainless steel, the 3.25-inch blade has a pointed end for puncturing, a plain edge for slicing, and serration at the base for sawing. Measuring eight inches open and 4.5 inches closed, the knife fits easily into a pocket or can be kept handy at your side with its convenient belt clip.
This review is from: Trademark Spring-Assisted Tactical Pocket Knife (Sports)
I ordered this product and it came promptly but with slight defects on the blade. When I mentioned this to the seller, they promptly fixed this. This is a highly reliable seller.
As an amateur knife collector and also a poor college student, I really know my cheap knives, and this is easily one of the best nonbrand knives I have ever come across. I am a firm believer in "you get what you pay for" but at the same time the same 20 dollars could get you a knife worth 5 dollars or a knife worth 50 dollars. In this case I rate this knife with the cost in mind, so keep in mind that I am not suggesting this knife to be of comparable to a CRKT or a Kershaw. I will separately review the components of this knife.
blade (5/5) : drop point blade (even though it looks like a spear point, the grind starts above the middle of the blade) with a partial swage on the back side. It has a combo edge, with a good serrated:smooth ratio, many knives have over half the blade serrated, which is silly in my opinion. Riccasso present for increased strength, choil also present. The blade appears to be made out of 440A stainless steel, or steel of similar hardness, which is pretty much low grade carbon steel with mediocre edge retention. But any knife made out of 440C steel is at minimum 40 dollars. Overall for the price the blade is as good is it can get.
Handle (5/5): Scales present for better grip, comfortable to hold. I am a big fan of the quillions on the blade, acting as a finger guard and a thumb rise. Overall rivet construction, with star screws, I was able to tighten it with a hex wrench, which reduced the blade play.
Action (4.5/5): The fingerguard on the blade acts as a speed tab, and flipping that allows the blade to spring open. Fast deployment, and easy to use. The thumb stud, however, is difficult to use, and located too close to the handle to be able to open with, so just use the speed tab instead.
Lock-up (3/5): Only part of this knife I would suggest improvement on. It locks up fine, and I test all my knives as soon as I get them by stabbing a 1/4" wood panel of red oak to make sure the lock will not fail. At first it would fail, but upon applying some lubricant to the pivot and also loosening and then tightening the pivot, the lock would be fine. However the grooves on the lock stick out too far and I discovered that if you torque your knife in a specific way, your fingers can catch on the group and cause the lock to fail. But you do have to try hard to do that, it should not fail under normal circumstances. Also, I have found that whenever the lock has failed, the finger guards catch on your finger, preventing the blade from striking your fingers.
Clip (4/5): clip and lock-up are two of the most important things to me, one being availability and the other being reliability after deployment. That being said, I spent a lot of time examining this clip. The clip on this knife is secured by a single star screw, and an indent into the handle holds the knife into place. I have had bad experiences with clips coming loose and eventually falling off, even with big name companies like Gerber, but this clip seems extremely secure and so far has not even wobbled in the slightest. The clip is mounted on the butt-end of the knife as opposed to the pivot end, which I am a huge fan of. This allows for quick deployment from the carry position, as when it is stuck in your pocket, reaching your hand in to retrieve the knife allows your hand to be in the right position automatically.
Overall: 5/5 considering the price, I have no problems at all recommending the knife. It is worth at least 40 dollars, and for 13 dollars it is a steal. In the two weeks I have owned it, I have subjected it to at least 2 months of abuse. As an EMT, I carry a CRKT as my main knife, but also carry this knife for use on things that I would not subject my CRKT to. It has been covered in blood, urine, diesel fuel, and I have used it to pry stuff, open cans, cut IV tubing, reshape splints, and other abusive stuff, and none of it has permanently damaged it at all. After getting it, I spent 20 minutes sharpening it and reshaping the bevel, but from then on 30 seconds with an arkansas stone every few days keeps it at shaving-ability sharpness.
Bottom line: I highly recommend this knife. It is reliable as long as you keep in mind to be careful about the lock. Everything else is exceptional considering the 13 dollars you pay. I know I would pay willing to pay 30 for it.
