The package arrived when expected. Big, flat box that needs two people to move around--pretty heavy. It's been out of the box for 3 hours now and has had the wife and three kids running all over it since assembled. Assembly was very easy--I think there were a total of 12 bolts and 4 screws total. Directions are easy to follow. Equipment seems very sturdy and durable but time will tell. Unfortunately the right, silver, metal heart rate handle was a bit dented but still works so I guess it's not a big deal. I would recommend this product to anyone as set up is easy, product is good quality and durable, and providing exactly what we bought it for. There are plenty of other, more expensive products but I chose this one as I figured it as a middle of the line machine and good for our purposes.

About Treadmills
Walking is still considered one of the most beneficial cardiovascular exercises for people of all ages, body types, and fitness levels. As a fundamental form of aerobic training, walking has numerous physical benefits for the heart, lungs, and circulatory system, while also increasing muscle tone and burning fat calories. Treadmills provide a convenient way to regularly exercise in all weather conditions in the comfort and safety of your own home.

From beginners just starting an exercise regimen to advanced athletes looking to maintain their fitness level, anyone interested in getting and staying in shape can benefit greatly from regular use of a treadmill. Treadmills allow you to determine the pace, distance, and complexity of the workout based on your needs, all while watching television, talking on the telephone, or reading a magazine. Much easier on sensitive joints like the knees and hips, treadmill walking and running surfaces are typically long, padded platforms that allow ample room for a long stride and comfortable, low-impact walk or jog without the harsh contact of a concrete surface.

While many different types, styles, and price ranges of treadmills exist, many of them offer unique features like a fold-up design for easy storage, an electronic display monitor showing speed, distance, workout time, incline level, and burned calories, and EKG grip pulses to monitor the heart rate while exercising. Regardless of the simple to complex features you may choose, treadmills offer an array of aerobic exercise opportunities that will provide long-lasting beneficial cardiovascular results without a commute to the gym or a jog in the rain.

My wife can walk or run on it without a problem. I can walk on it with no issue. But when I try to run, say at 5 mph or so, it shakes pretty bad. I'm about 200 lbs.

Also, the instructions state that the belt comes factory set for the tension and centered, but then they require you to loosen the belt to grease it. Was very difficult to get the belt back to the way it is suppose to be, and I'm still not sure it's right.

The treadmill is self-powered, meaning you set your own workout pace rather than relying on a motor. Not only is this an energy-efficient means of staying in shape, but it's also extremely quiet, so you can easily watch low-volume TV shows or listen to music while running without disturbing others. The InMotion II also offers a 42-inch-long walking/running deck that accommodates both longer and shorter strides, along with dual-weighted flywheels that keep the deck running smoothly. And users will love the multi-function, battery-operated monitor, which tracks distance, workout time, speed, and calories burned.

Perhaps most importantly for crowded homes, the InMotion II folds up and stores easily in a closet or garage. Other details include a textured, non-slip walking/running surface; foam-padded front and side rails; a heavy-duty steel frame; a pair of incline positions (8 and 10 degrees); skid-resistant rubber floor protectors to maximize stability; and a weight capacity of 250 pounds. It's also backed by a one-year warranty on the frame and a 90-day warranty on parts.

I knew I was purchasing an inexpensive piece of equipment and I expected it to have some quirks, but I was surprised!! I initially bought this to walk on while watching tv so that I could waste my time wisely, but am now using it more often than I thought I would be. Thie silicon spray is a must! It helps to keep the machine working at its best. I am short 5'2" and find that if you are walking on the treadmill you need to have at least one hand on so that you dont start running!! But if you want to run it goes at your pace and is very stable!! It is also very compact adn easy to put together!! I did it myself in my PJ's!!

We all want quality, but some of us are restricted in our spending. I am one of those - and i needed to find the best treadmill i could for my wife and i with a budget of $1000 or less. Taking on the challenge i went to work. Sporting good stores, online reviews, friends machines - you name it, we looked at it. After our research we decided on this Proform model, and glad we did. Ample motor size for, large deck, comfortable cushioning and an awesome console with the new ifit live. Mission Accomplished!

Sole F63 Treadmill

Posted on January 9, 2012

Product Description

,Horizon Fitness T100 Treadmill ,Sole TT8 Treadmill ,Bowflex Series 7 Treadmill ,Smooth Fitness 9.35iHR Treadmill ,Precor 9.23 Treadmill Named a "best buy" from a leading consumer magazine two years in a row, the entry-level Sole F63 treadmill is loaded with features typically found in more expensive machines. All Sole treadmills are outfitted with powder-coated, all-steel welded frames and heavy-duty, stable inclines. The F63 also includes an ultra-reliable 2.5-horsepower continuous-duty motor and all-steel zinc-coated balanced flywheel, creating a secure, quiet, vibration-free running/walking surface. The flywheel is much heavier than most other brands, giving runners the fluid motion they're accustomed to at the gym. To accommodate runners with balky joints, Sole added a low-impact, 1-inch phenolic deck. The deck's shock-absorbing design greatly reduces the impact to your feet, ankles, knees, hips, and spine, making it comfortable for frequent runners or for users with running- and walking-related injuries.

The F63's console includes a vibrant 6.5-inch LCD display and an integrated sound system. The F63 makes it easy to track your workout progress via the vibrant 6.5-inch LCD display, which includes windows for speed, incline, time, distance traveled, calories, pulse, and pace. The console also sports a 1/4-mile track and a peak-and-valley graph for different programs, along with an integrated sound system for listening to your iPod or MP3 player (the system includes built-in speakers and a sound cord that plugs into your player's headphone jack). Perhaps the handiest feature is the integrated message window, which offers scrolling messages that walk you through the treadmill's features or the workout itself. The message window will also recap your entire routine after you're finished, so you can see your progress from workout to workout.

The F63 comes complete with six automatic programs--including cardio training and fat burning options--and two customizable programs, so you can challenge yourself with multiple routines. Or you can opt to control the speed and incline manually. The speed range is adjustable from 1 to 10 miles per hour and the incline varies between 0 and 15 percent.

And to reduce space, the F63 boasts an Easy Assist folding deck design. This unique feature allows you to release the deck, step back, and watch the deck unfold itself. When you're done with your workout, simply fold it back up and store it out of the way. Other features include a 20-by-55-inch running deck, a large stop switch, cooling fans, armrest speed and incline controls, and a low-profile running hood that doesn't get in the way of your running gait.

The treadmill's Easy Assist folding deck helps save space in crowded homes. Specifications:

  • Motor: 2.5 horsepower continuous duty, DC type

This review is from: Sole F63 Treadmill (2011 Model) (Sports)
I've owned and used this treadmill for about a month. I'm genuinely pleased with the treadmill. The only minor complaint I have about the treadmill itself is the buttons on the panel look and feel cheap. They are stupidly large, and feel like cheap plastic. The functionality and ease of use, however, more than make up for the fisher price looking buttons.

As other reviewers have stated, it does take a bit longer than I was used to for the belt to get up to speed (or down to speed when slowing down), but that's not a big deal to me. I've also not used the built in speakers, I prefer to either use my large stereo, or simply use the headphones with my mp3 player that I've grown accustomed to.

I un-boxed and assembled the treadmill by myself (sort of) in just over two hours. I was partially interrupted by my 2 year old and 4 year old daughters on occasion (retrieve a toy from the shelf, put on a movie, etc). The assembly is pretty easy and straightforward. The only part that gave me any trouble was screwing on the triangular plastic covers at the bottom on both sides of the treadmill. The screw hole is at the bottom of a depression which is about as big around as a large finger and maybe an inch deep. It made it difficult to line up the screw with the screw hole - I fumbled with that for a bit.

PROS
This treadmill is pretty darn quiet for a treadmill. My footsteps (walking or running) are very much the loudest noise during operation. The 15% incline is nice (compared to 10% or 12% for similarly priced models from other manufacturers) - though I rarely go above the 10% anyway. The cushioned surface softens the blow a little - you can actually see the deck "bounce" a tad - like a car does with springs and shock absorbers - when walking or running (easier to observe if someone else is on the treadmill). As someone who likes air movement, the built in fans are a nice touch.

CONS
Aforementioned look of the buttons on the display panel. Lack of a "pace" display (7 minute mile, 8 minute mile, etc) - it does display MPH and I can do the math (close enough anyway).

Because I'm reviewing the treadmill, I give the treadmill 5 stars. The delivery service, however, was severely lacking and deserving of zero stars. I scheduled delivery for between 10am and 1pm. 1pm comes and goes. At 1:30, my wife (who is at home with the kids while I'm at work) calls the delivery company to see where it is. She is only told "they should be there soon". The delivery truck arrives at 2:30. My wife answers the door and the driver asks her if he can leave it in the driveway!!! She says no, please bring it inside (our house is two steps up above the driveway, so it's not like a split level, or even an apartment on the 5th floor). They then ask if they can leave it in the garage because it's big an heavy. She finally convinced them to bring it in the house - which they did, technically. If it were any closer to the door, it would have been outside.

I was looking for something compact to fit into my livingroom. I didn't realize just how short the walking surface really is. I'm an average height female and I don't recommend this treadmill to anybody taller than myself. Even I have to be careful not to have my foot roll of the surface in the back while walking. Otherwise it has many other good qualities. Sturdy design, easy set-up, the controls are simple to use and it runs so quiet to even watch TV while walking.

TrekDesk Treadmill Desk

Product Description

,Merit Fitness 725T Treadmill ,Sole F65 Treadmill , Smooth Fitness 6.75 Folding Treadmill ,Proform 705 CST Treadmill , Horizon Evolve Compact Treadmill Product Description Too busy to work out on a daily basis? Turn to the TrekDesk treadmill desk, which encourages you to walk slowly on a treadmill while you talk to clients, type up proposals, or catch up on your email. Designed to attach to most existing treadmills, the TrekDesk was originally built for offices, with a variety of features meant to keep employees productive and fit throughout the day. The desktop offers a generous workspace that measures 72 inches long by 34 inches wide, and includes such desktop accessories as a manuscript holder that keeps books and magazines upright; a file folder with three levels; accessory slots to keep accessories on the desktop; a top stand that holds your telephone, headset, or cell phone; and two cup/utility holders. The desk's center cutout, meanwhile, keeps all treadmill controls and accessories within easy reach, while also positioning your body close enough to type on a laptop or use a mouse. And despite the TrekDesk's foldable design, it's extremely sturdy when attached, with two height-adjustable support legs (fixed 49 inches apart) providing a solid, robust steel base, and a premium powder-coated steel frame that's built to last a lifetime. The frame is topped off by a resilient, steel-reinforced, low-density polyethylene (LDPE) desktop.

The TrekDesk offers a number of benefits to both work and home users. Not only does it encourage weight loss, disease prevention, and overall physical health, but it also improves your mood and increases your productivity. Studies show that a TrekDesk can increase blood flow to the brain, helping improve your memory by as much as 15 percent in a six-month period. At the same time, walking on a treadmill promotes healthy restorative sleep patterns, which in turn decreases your stress levels and keeps you happier. I am writing this review while walking on a treadmill - but the desk is no longer a Trek Desk.

Sole F85 Treadmill

Posted on January 9, 2012

Product Description

,Precor 9.35 Premium Series Treadmill ,FreeMotion 770 Interactive Treadmill ,Smooth Fitness 7.35 Folding Treadmill ,AFG 13.0 AT Platform Treadmill ,LifeSpan Fitness TR4000i Folding Treadmill The top model in Sole's folding series, the F85 treadmill is a great choice for serious workout enthusiasts. All Sole treadmills are outfitted with powder-coated, all-steel welded frames and heavy-duty, stable inclines. Sole took the F85 to another level, however, by using an industrial-quality 3.5-horsepower continuous-duty motor and an all-steel zinc-coated balanced flywheel, helping it reach speeds of up to 12 miles per hour and inclines of up to 15 percent. The treadmill's integrated flywheel is also much heavier than most other brands, giving runners the fluid motion they're accustomed to at the gym. To accommodate runners with balky joints, Sole added its low-impact, whisper-quiet Cushion Flex deck. The Cushion Flex system greatly reduces the impact to your feet, ankles, knees, hips, and spine, making it comfortable for frequent runners or for users with running- and walking-related injuries. In a recent study, researchers concluded that the Cushion Flex deck reduced impact up to 40 percent as compared to running on asphalt.

The F85's console includes a vibrant 9-inch LCD display and an integrated sound system. The F85 makes it easy to track your workout progress via the vibrant 9-inch LCD display, which includes windows for speed, incline, time, distance traveled, calories, pulse, and pace. The console also sports a 1/4-mile track and a peak-and-valley graph for different programs, along with an integrated sound system for listening to your iPod or MP3 player (the system includes built-in speakers and a sound cord that plugs into your player's headphone jack). Perhaps the handiest feature is the integrated message board, which offers scrolling messages that walk you through the treadmill's features or the workout itself. The message board will also recap your entire routine after you're finished, so you can see your progress from workout to workout.

The F85 comes complete with two heart-rate-controlled workout options, so you can customize the workout specifically to your needs. Throughout your HR workout, the treadmill will display a heart rate zone graph on the console while adjusting the incline to keep you in your target zone (the treadmill includes a wireless chest strap that touts a 99.9 percent accuracy rating). The remainder of the time, you can challenge yourself with the six automatic programs or two customizable programs.

In addition, the F85 incorporates the largest deck that Sole offers. At 22 by 60 inches, the deck offers plenty of room for runners with wide, unfocused strides. And to reduce space, the F85 boasts an Easy Assist folding deck design. This unique feature allows you to release the deck, step back, and watch the deck unfold itself. When you're done with your workout, simply fold it back up and store it out of the way. Other features include built-in cooling fans, armrest incline and speed controls, and a low-profile running hood.

The treadmill's Easy Assist folding deck helps save space in crowded homes. Specifications:

This review is from: Sole F85 Treadmill (2011 Model) (Sports)
My husband bought me this treadmill for my birthday. I was training for my first half marathon and was not always able to run outside / with kids.
I am 5'5" and 125 lbs. This was a great treadmill for me. My husband is 6'2" and 195 and it was also sturdy enough for him to run on and even walk
on when wearing full military gear. I love that it folds up and locks, the little kids can't pull the deck down. When you take it down it glides down.

My main complaint would be when using a higher incline (say over 7) for walking uphill, the handles and built in heart rate monitor become useless. I am not extremely tall and I have to hunch over to reach them which throws off your balance. We both wish they would raise up with the rest of the machine or were adjustable. See my Pros and Cons below.

I would say its overall its a great home machine for the money! We have been pleased.

Pros:
-dependable
-good shocks
-fairly quiet
-the built in mp3 jack
-built in speakers (although don't expect stereo quality)
-the incline
- the speed settings
- the max weight limit.
-fold up / locking deck
-heart rate strap included

Cons
-fans are almost useless
-handles become useless on a high incline
-belt slows down super slow from a run to a walk
-NO cool down feature

I had this treadmill for 18 months and used it to walk 6-7 days per week at 3.5 speed and 6.5 incline. Just before it died, there was some burnt rubber smell and then the belt stopped and the motor would not come on...the display board still worked but no moving parts. Was difficult to get a response via email...the only time I received a response was if I posted on Facebook. As I live overseas, the warranty doesn't apply and I don't have a problem with that..but customer service not really helpful/useful to solve the problem. The only reason I am not desperately unhappy is that I did get good use out of it and if I divide the cost by the months it worked, it would have been more expensive and less convenient joining a gym. I am now looking for a new treadmill.
