The stylish Thule 9002 Raceway 3-Bike Trunk Mount Carrier represents a revolutionary new rack concept that merges premium features of a hitch rack with an incredible ease of storage. The Raceway 9002 secures to your vehicle via Sure-Tight high strength cable attachments that provide a hold that is much better than anything possible with straps. Four cables extend from the core of the rack, two at the top and two at the bottom. Cable tension is released at the flip of upper and lower levers. At this point cables can be pulled out to the exact length needed for your vehicle configuration and once hooks at the end of cables are in place they are then tightened using the side-by-side large and smaller dials at the side of the carrier. Although rigid, cables are padded, meaning they never scratch your vehicle. The Raceway 9003 also includes the Thule's patented FitDial technology with oversized ratcheting knobs for fast, easy installation on a wide range of vehicles with the exact position able to be locked in place for future uses.

Once the rack is securely mounted on your vehicle loading bikes is easy. The Raceway 9002 holds 3 bicycles securing each via the combination of narrow cradles arms with bike straps atop the carrier's bike arms and no-sway cages that attach to your bike frame's main vertical tube. Once bikes are secured with these two elements an included strap is run through the bike(s) to secure their lower halves to the frame of the Raceway 2002. When bikes are removed, the upper arms of the Raceway 9002 fold down inline with the main body of the rack at the release of a few levers allowing for a more streamlined shape and easier driving and parking abilities.
Two-way Locking for Security
The Thule 9002 Raceway Platform 3-Bike Trunk Mount Carrier features locking security on two levels. First, it is packaged with an integrated cable lock extending from the bike arms around the frame cradles so your bicycles are protected from theft. The carrier itself is also protected by the inclusion of locks and keys for securing the Sure-Tight ratcheting cables in place, which locks the entire bike carrier to your trunk or hatchback.

Thule will warranty all Thule brand car rack systems and its accessories manufactured by Thule during the time that an original retail purchaser owns the product. This warranty terminates if a purchaser transfers the product to any other person. No warranty is given for defects caused by normal wear and tear, cosmetic rust, scratches, accidents, unlawful vehicle operation, or modification of, or any types of repair of a load carrier system other than those authorized by Thule.

To be brief. The rack is of good workmanship but there are design issues at once. Your bike rides very high. To load the bike you have to lift it quite high. When driving, you will notice that the bike and carrier will block your rear view. Strapping the bike to the rack is a process. My former rack, also by Thule was much easier to use. This one is twice the price and twice the trouble compared to my previous rack. I am not happy with the purchase, however, I can not return it to Rack Attack because I opened the box. How would I know if I didn't like the rack unless I opened it and tried it out. Live and learn.
