This review is from: Treadmill Tv Stand (Misc.)
We recently created an exercise area in our home. We wanted to be able to watch TV and workout DVDs while we exercised. Since my husband likes to use a rowing machine and the total gym, and I use a treadmill, we needed something that would allow us to see the TV from different angles. Also, my husband is a foot taller than I am so finding an ideal location was a challange. We had tried to wall mount the TV, but that cause me to have neck pain. This product was a great and inexpensive way to solve our problem. Now, each of us can watch from our gym apparatus of choice and the difference in our height (over a foot) isn't a factor. I highly recommend this product if you have a TV to use and just need a way to position it.

About Treadmills Walking is still considered one of the most beneficial cardiovascular exercises for people of all ages, body types, and fitness levels. As a fundamental form of aerobic training, walking has numerous physical benefits for the heart, lungs, and circulatory system, while also increasing muscle tone and burning fat calories. Treadmills provide a convenient way to regularly exercise in all weather conditions in the comfort and safety of your own home.
From beginners just starting an exercise regimen to advanced athletes looking to maintain their fitness level, anyone interested in getting and staying in shape can benefit greatly from regular use of a treadmill. Treadmills allow you to determine the pace, distance, and complexity of the workout based on your needs, all while watching television, talking on the telephone, or reading a magazine. Much easier on sensitive joints like the knees and hips, treadmill walking and running surfaces are typically long, padded platforms that allow ample room for a long stride and comfortable, low-impact walk or jog without the harsh contact of a concrete surface.
While many different types, styles, and price ranges of treadmills exist, many of them offer unique features like a fold-up design for easy storage, an electronic display monitor showing speed, distance, workout time, incline level, and burned calories, and EKG grip pulses to monitor the heart rate while exercising. Regardless of the simple to complex features you may choose, treadmills offer an array of aerobic exercise opportunities that will provide long-lasting beneficial cardiovascular results without a commute to the gym or a jog in the rain.

This review is from: Horizon Fitness T202 Treadmill (Sports)
We love this treadmill. It does everything we could ask for, is very solid, has a long running bed and is pretty easy to use. Perfect for home use. We have had some confusion with the controls, as it is not entirely intuitive. Only thing I would change would be the length of the power cord. We have to use a heavy duty extension cord since we did not want to face toward the wall. A deeper book shelf would be nice. My son uses a portable DVD player while running long distances, and we strap it on. These are small details on an otherwise awesome machine. We are very happy with our purchase. BTW it is REALLY heavy. Have it delivered into the room where it will be used!!! The delivery company would not bring it up stairs, and so now it is in our diningroom until we can find someone to move it for us.
Sole S77 Treadmill
Product Description
,Endurance T10HRC Commercial Treadmill ,Gold's Gym Stridetrainer 380 Elliptical Resistance GGEL628080 ,LifeSpan TR 800 Folding Treadmill ,Phoenix 98836 Easy Up Motorized Treadmill ,Merit Fitness 715T Treadmill Offering the power of a club-quality treadmill but in the comfort of your own home, the Sole S77 non-folding treadmill is ideal for serious runners committed to winter training. All Sole treadmills are outfitted with powder-coated, all-steel welded frames and heavy-duty, stable inclines. Sole took the S77 to another level, however, by using an industrial-quality 3.5-horsepower continuous-duty motor and adding the largest deck that Sole offers--a 22-inch wide running surface that fits virtually any runner. The treadmill also includes an all-steel, zinc-coated balanced flywheel that's much heavier than most other brands, giving runners the fluid motion they're accustomed to at the gym. To accommodate runners with balky joints, Sole added its low-impact, whisper-quiet Cushion Flex system. The Cushion Flex system greatly reduces the impact to your feet, ankles, knees, hips, and spine, making it comfortable for frequent runners or for users with running- and walking-related injuries. In a recent study, researchers concluded that the Cushion Flex deck reduced impact up to 40 percent as compared to running on asphalt.
The S77's console includes a vibrant 9-inch LCD display and an integrated sound system. The S77 makes it easy to track your workout progress via the vibrant 9-inch LCD display, which includes windows for speed, incline, time, distance traveled, calories, pulse, and pace. The console also sports a 1/4-mile track and a peak-and-valley graph for different programs, along with an integrated sound system for listening to your iPod or MP3 player (the system includes built-in speakers and a sound cord that plugs into your player's headphone jack). Perhaps the handiest feature is the integrated message board, which offers scrolling messages that walk you through the treadmill's features or the workout itself. The message board will also recap your entire routine after you're finished, so you can see your progress from workout to workout.
The S77 comes complete with two heart-rate-controlled workout options, so you can customize the workout specifically to your needs. Throughout your HR workout, the treadmill will display a heart rate zone graph on the console while adjusting the incline to keep you in your target zone (the treadmill includes a wireless chest strap that touts a 99.9 percent accuracy rating). The remainder of the time, you can challenge yourself with the six automatic programs or two customizable programs.
Other features include built-in cooling fans, armrest speed and incline controls, and a 10 amp circuit breaker. The S77 is a non-folding treadmill, making it a great choice for homes with dedicated fitness rooms.
The non-folding treadmill offer Sole's largest running deck at 22 by 60 inches. Specifications:
- Motor: 3.5 horsepower continuous duty, DC type, ultra high torque

This review is from: Sole S77 Treadmill (2011 Model) (Sports)
Pros: I have stretched it to 8 m/hr , 12 miles a week for over 2 months.
Cons: assembling the arm handle part wasn't good but in the scheme of things its negligible.
Other thoughts:
-Its very heavy and so it will require at least 3 persons to move it around.
-Assembly wasn't difficult.
-I have had it for almost 3 months and so far no complains.
-Its very stable while I run on it as its not the folding kind.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program
(What's this?) In the interests of full disclosure, I received this item through Amazon Vine. However, I try extremely hard to write my reviews as if I had paid the full purchase price, for I think this is only fair for those who read and rely on reviews.
=Before the Treadmill Arrives=
First off, you're going to need a few things handy before you begin to assemble your treadmill. Although the majority of tools needed are included, you will need to have a Phillips screwdriver, an adjustable wrench, and scissors. In order to run your treadmill, you'll need a single outlet surge suppressor (I'd recommend buying one on Amazon so you don't end up running all over town to find one like I did). The surge suppressor must have a UL suppressed voltage rating of 400 volts or less and a minimum surge dissipation of 450 joules. The surge suppressor should be rated for 120 volts AC and 15 amps. I paid $12 for mine at Radio Shack, but you can find cheaper ones on Amazon. Finally, this treadmill is a heavy machine and I would strongly recommend some sort of mat to place under it to protect your hardwood floor or carpet. I already had some interlocking padded mats and ended up using those (which work well), but I know there are pads specifically made for treadmills that might be even better.
=Delivery=
I was pleased that the shipping service used made it very clear when the treadmill was to arrive. I received two automated messages telling me when it was scheduled to arrive (and to press 1 if that was acceptable), and I had a real person call the day before the delivery to confirm. The woman who called told me it was the delivery policy to have the treadmill be delivered inside your front door (so for those of you in apartments, they should bring it up to your unit). The box was huge, which is to be expected given that this is a very large and very heavy machine. I live on the second floor of an apartment building and the poor delivery men had quite a time getting the box up the stairs.
=Assembly=
Now the part that everyone dreads - putting the darn thing together. I can't stress enough that this thing is heavy - the delivery guys said it was listed at 300 lbs. but "felt much, much heavier." This means you're going to need to have at least one other person help you move it to your desired location (I had two friends help me). Putting the treadmill together was, all things considered, not too bad. The instructions are fairly detailed and they include helpful illustrations next to each step so that you know what you're doing. I only have two complaints regarding the assembly process.
First, there are a lot of screws and they're fairly similar in size, which makes them a bit of a pain to sort out (though quite doable). Second, Pro-form included an insert that added an additional step that had been excluded from the manual. It's a fairly important step - calibrating the incline so that the safety bar can be attached properly - so be sure to keep an eye out for that. Speaking of the safety bar, the treadmill does fold up, but it does not fold up completely and it will stick out at an angle.
I had my two friends help me and we were able to have the treadmill assembled in less than two hours (and this was at a very leisurely pace). Like moving the box, you'll need at least one other person to help you assemble the treadmill. Unlike another reviewer, I was lucky enough to have no missing or damaged parts, so the treadmill went together without a hitch. Therefore, I have not had the pleasure (ha!) of dealing with Pro-form customer service, so I can't comment on that. However, I did visit their Facebook page and saw that they had one representative posting that was very helpful regarding problems, so perhaps that would be an option. Also, I am aware that while my treadmill may be running perfectly now, the real question is one of durability. I will update this review if I run into any problems.
=Features=
Now the fun part - describing the actual treadmill. This treadmill has a lot of really cool features that help justify the price tag. First, you can change the speed in increments of .1 mph up to a maximum speed of 12 mph. As I am solely a walker myself (to save my downstairs neighbor's sanity and to also protect my fickle knees), I use it mostly at slower speeds and use the incline to boost the intensity. The incline feature changes the incline from 0% up to 15%. There are several modes that allow you to change the workout information displayed (shown on the console's seven-inch touchscreen display). You can see your elapsed time, calories burned, distance traveled, incline level, speed, a 1/4 mile track that shows you the time it takes to complete one lap and the number of laps completed, time remaining, calories burned per hour, vertical feet climbed, your pace in mph, or your heart rate. You can measure your heart rate using the handgrip pulse sensors, though I don't think they are terribly accurate. I prefer to use a heart rate monitor and I am a bit disappointed that the treadmill doesn't sync with my heart rate monitor, but it's certainly not a deal breaker for me.
The console includes a fan that has three levels, though the fan is honestly pretty weak. Don't rely on it as your only source of air; I prefer to use a little Vornado that I aim right at me! The console also includes built-in speakers. These are not Bose-quality speakers, but I think they're fairly good for their small size. The console has an audio jack and includes an audio wire that you can use to plug into a jack on your mp3 player, CD player, etc. There are volume buttons on the console itself, so you're not constantly fumbling for the volume on your iPod.
Now my favorite part! This treadmill has wireless capabilities (a snap to connect to my wifi network, I might add), so you can download and use your included one-year iFit membership. While I think the iFit service and site are a bit clunky, this is iFit's fault and not the fault of the treadmill.
For example, you arrange your workout schedule on the iFit site and the next workout on your list is downloaded when you start your iFit workout. As of yet, there is no way to choose another iFit workout from the treadmill console if you don't feel like doing the next workout on your list. You have to sign in online and rearrange your workouts so that the one you want is on top, which is kind of annoying. However, other than that I love, love, love the iFit workouts. They have several pre-programmed workouts you can choose from (Central Park, etc.), and you can also make your own using Google Maps, which I think is an awesome feature (I'm currently "hiking" the Inca trail to Machu Picchu!). They also have competitions, trainer workouts and many more features. Check out their site it you want to know more.
Of course, if you don't want to use an iFit workout, you certainly don't have to. You can use your treadmill the normal way by selecting speed and incline, you can select one of the workout settings the treadmill offers (calorie-burn workouts, all-terrain workouts), or you can select a set-a-goal workout, which allows you to set a time, distance or calorie goal.
=Overall=
I've only had my treadmill set up a few days and all seems to be working well so far. I'll certainly update if I have problems in the future.
The bottom line is that I think this is an excellent treadmill for the price. The features available on this treadmill make it a joy to use, and I find myself actually looking forward to my next walk.
+++++UPDATE+++++
I am still enjoying my treadmill immensely! It's been about five months since I received it and I use it, at minimum, three times a week. I've recently been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and am trying very hard to keep exercising as I was before - this treadmill allows me to do so, no matter what the time or the weather. I only had a problem once (the incline was off and not changing); recalibrating the incline was a simple procedure and fixed the problem. I look forward to many more months on the machine and will update if any problems arise! Happy treading!
LifeSpan Fitness TR3000i Folding Treadmill
Product Description
,Sole F83 Treadmill ,Sole TT8 Treadmill , Proform 590T Treadmill ,Freemotion Xtr Treadmill , Sole S77 Treadmill Product Description The LifeSpan TR3000i folding treadmill is durable, reliable, and loaded with valuable features, helping you walk, jog, or run with confidence in the comfort of your own home. The award-winning treadmill's pleasing design includes safe and convenient handlebar controls, which let you control your speed and incline without ever removing your hands from the handlebars. As a result, you can run or walk without fear of losing your concentration or balance while adjusting your pace. The TR3000i is also built for comfort and power, with a 2.75-horsepower motor, 2.5-inch rollers, a spacious 20-by-56-inch running surface, and a biomechanically sound deck suspension system that supports people up to 350 pounds. And to help you track your workout progress, the treadmill automatically saves your exercise data to your USB storage device. Once the info is saved, you can upload it to your personal online LifeSpan Fitness Club account, giving you access to exercise programs and detailed reports of your exercise and health results.
The multicolored LCD console tracks your time, distance, calories, and more. The centerpiece of the TR3000i, however, is the multicolored LCD console, which offers several simultaneous readouts and exercise programs to help you achieve your health and fitness goals. The display tracks your time, calories, distance, steps, heart rate, speed, and incline level, with large soft-touch keys helping you get started and control your momentum. More importantly, the console offers a variety of preset workout programs that help you vary your exercise routine--a critical factor for people trying to get in shape. Many of the workout programs on the TR3000i are grouped by exercise motivation, so you can quickly choose a workout that's right for you. The program categories include weight loss (choose from steady pace, long slow distance, cardio run, short interval, or uphill walk); healthy living (with uphill climb, pyramid climb, plateau climb, ladder, and uphill interval options); and sports training (with seven programs designed to help you train for an upcoming sporting event).
In addition to the preset programs, the treadmill offers two My Zone heart rate control programs and two custom programs. The My Zone Constant program keeps your heart rate at a constant level--thereby using your heart rate as a fitness tool--while the My Zone Interval program lets you enter your own minimum and maximum hear rate. As you exercise, the treadmill speed and incline will automatically adjust to keep your heart rate at the preferred level. By contrast, the custom programs are fully adaptable to your favored workout formula. That's because you're in charge of setting the speed and incline level for each of the 20 program segments, and then saving them for future use.
As a bonus, when you purchase a LifeSpan TR3000i treadmill, you automatically receive a membership for the LifeSpan Fitness Club. This comprehensive online health management program, powered by the Interactive Health Partner, lets you select exercise programs, track and manage your fitness and health results, and receive motivating support as you work toward achieving your goals. The LifeSpan Fitness Club is easy to use: each time you work out on the TR3000i, the treadmill automatically saves your exercise results on your LifeSpan USB storage device. Because the USB device is personalized with your age, gender, and weight, not only do you bypass setup screens, you also receive accurate calorie calculations based on your data. Every 20 seconds during your workout, the console will then record your heart rate, minutes, miles, steps, and calories. After your workout, you simply upload your results to your personalized online account on your computer using the USB device. You'll then have access to a full set of detailed reports and fun facts that you can analyze or share with friends, family, fitness coaches, or physicians.
Other details include a set of built-in speakers and a headphone plug-in, making it easy to listen to music as you walk or run; a large front safety bar that's designed and positioned for easy access; an EZ Drop folding design that lowers the treadmill deck to the ground softly and lightly; and an Intelli-Guard automatic safety pause that stops the treadmill belt from moving when no one is walking or running on the treadmill.
The treadmill includes a folding frame with an automatic EZ Drop system.

This review is from: LifeSpan Fitness TR3000i Folding Treadmill (Sports)
Have had this for several weeks. No flaws in workmanship found. Compared to the prior folding treadmills we have had (and worn out with daily use of 7+ miles between 2 of us):
PROS-extraordinarily quiet (no need to increase volume on mp3 player or tv); motor operates smoothly; folds easily; incline operates smoothly; speed and incline controls on handles easy to use; large number of programming options.
CONS-heavy therefore hard to move; saftey disconnect can be accidentally hit and displaced when reach for front hand-hold (unit stops); side hand-holds rather widely separated (my major complaint and hence only 4 stars); plethora of buttons for almost overwhelming number of programming options.
OVERALL-I would buy this one again...but suspect that I will not have to!

I've had this treadmill for one year now and am pleased with it overall. For the first several months I used it daily; now I've added other equipment to my home gym and use it every third day or so.
It came completely assembled (nice!). The instructions advise using belt oil before first use but none is included, so be sure to order a bottle when you order your treadmill. You'll need it anyway, as it is important to keep treadmill belts oiled to keep the motor from being overworked. Construction is solid for a machine of this class (folding/portable). After the first couple months of use I noticed the rubber on one of the rear feet had started coming apart - apparently I didn't have it fully level (uneven wooden floor) and the movement started tearing the rubber. I contacted Lifespan to purchase a replacement foot and they sent me a new one at no charge. Excellent customer service!
The control panel is easy to use. It has 6 pre-set programs, each with 3 levels of difficulty, or you can create your own custom program. Has a jack to plug in your iPod; speaker quality is not great but acceptable for what it is.
Every once in a while (4 or 5 times in the past year) the control panel goes a little wacky when it is first turned on, but each time was resolved by just turning off then on again. I've also had the "safety key" wiggle a bit out of place and that will also prevent the unit from powering on correctly (also easily fixable).
When I purchased this treadmill I thought I might fold it up for storage on a regular basis, but as it turns out I just leave it up all the time, so can't comment on the durability of that feature.
Having done research before this purchase, I will say this machine receives high ratings for its class and I feel it is a very good buy. Lifespan has given me great customer service.

The treadmill was out of order after only 3 weeks. It stopped anytime I tried to adjust the speed. The walking belt began slipping and skipping constantly. Smooth service guy diagnosed the treadmill needed a new internal drive belt and control board. It took more than two months for the parts to finally arrive and be replaced. I do not recomend the Smooth (but not "smooth") brand to anyone I know.

This review is from: Bowflex Series 7 Treadmill (Sports)
I have never written a review for any product, ever, but here is my first attempt.
About 18 years ago, I bought my wife an el-cheapo treadmill from Montgomery Wards for around $500, thinking that she would probably use it for a couple of months and then it would gather dust and eventually be donated to Goodwill. To my astonishment, she ran on that thing for at least an hour, 3 to 5 days a week right up until last month when the deck finally fell apart and the belt began to shred. If I could have simply bought that treadmill again, I would have, but since that wasn't possible, I decided at least to get my wife a higher-end treadmill to replace it.
The first challenge was to narrow down my choices. Since Consumer Reports and the Treadmill Doctor website both rated this model highly, I was torn between it and models from Sole and Bodyguard, but a quick internet search revealed a (since ended) Amazon "secret sale" on the Bowflex models that lopped hundreds of dollars off the final price of the Bowflex, so that clinched my decision to get the Series 7.
A few days after I ordered it, the Eagle truck backed into my driveway, and a nice old (60+) guy began wrestling to get the huge, heavy box off the truck. He refused to let me help, and eventually got it tipped off the truck and onto a dolly without killing himself, or losing control of it. I didn't want him to risk injury trying to get it up my 2 porch steps and over my threshold though, so I just let him wheel it 10 feet into my garage and we eased it to the floor there.
The box was pristine, as was the treadmill itself, and it only took 4 guys to haul the deck down my curving stairway and into a basement bedroom.
I assembled the unit alone, using the supplied tools and two of my own phillips screw drivers. It was easy to do, and only took about an hour and a half.
The assembly instructions are beautifully illustrated and well-written, so you shouldn't have much trouble getting it together.
Once I got it assembled and plugged in, I tested it out a little, and everything seemed to work fine. Until I tried to use the INCLINE feature.
While it APPEARED to be working well according to the output on the display, the deck stayed flat. Why? Because, although it is not clearly stated in the owner's manual, you MUST do the calibration sequence on page 28 before the incline feature (and who knows what else) will actually work. Fortunately it is an easy procedure, and only takes a minute to do. Another thing the manual should state but doesn't is that you should NEVER use WD-40 to lubricate your belt. According to Nautilus, this is something a lot of people do, and any consequential damage will NOT be covered by your warranty.
The Series 7 is easy to operate, FAR quieter than our old treadmill, and was a bargain at the price we paid.
