This is a great HDMI cable. I use it with my PS3 and occasionally my laptop. The picture quality is great and I haven't had any problems. What I want to draw attention to though is the build quality.

It's amazing.

It is by far the best HDMI cable I have used in terms of build quality. If for some reason, you're worried about something chewing, cutting, smashing, etc your HDMI cable then get this. And unlike most braided cables I've used, it's also very flexible so you can easily bend it to meet your needs.

As a bonus, the packaging is also very, very hassle free. Comes in a small little box with cable twists used to wrap up the cable. No more cutting through days of plastic packaging and all that junk just to get to your purchase.

I got my cable for about $12 or so so for that price and the fact this cable is indeed 25 ft long, I feel like it's an unbeatable bargain. If you need an HDMI cable for anything then look no further.

It was inexpensive, lightweight, and held all the gear I needed for travel: an EOS 5D, four lenses, flash, portable hard drive, chargers, spare batteries and flash cards, manuals, etc., with room left over for odds and ends plus my passport wallet.

BUT! One day, arriving at the airport with the bag over one shoulder, the plastic adjustment fitting on the shoulder strap broke, dropping the bag to the sidewalk. Through some miracle the only casualty was a smashed lens cap, but the incident points up glaring flaws in this bag's construction: inadequate hardware design margins and/or cheaply made fittings, and internal padding that's not up to the task. I knotted the ends of the shoulder strap together to make do until I got home from the trip and then immediately went out and bought a proper camera backpack, the Kata R-103 GDC Rucksack, which also holds my laptop and is built like a tank. It has some shortcomings and costs five times as much as the Canon bag but, honestly, can you afford to put your investment in camera gear at risk just to save a few bucks on a camera bag?

this is not a cheap memory card, but worth it if you need the space and the speed. I'm using it to record HD video on my Canon T2i: you need a fast card to make sure that there are no buffering issues. Plus, HD video eats up memory card space. This card had no problem keeping up with my recording of numerous HD clips back to back to back. The only problems I ended up running into were the camera overheating every so often. I was able to record a ton of HD video with room to spare for close to 100 RAW images. Very happy with this purchase so far

Okay, I'm a bit of a gadget junky. Not only did I buy this DVD burner, but I also own a similar device made by Canon, the DW-100, which you can find here: Canon DW-100 DVD Burner for Canon Hard Drive & Flash Memory Camcorders + Accessory Kit as well as one made by Panasonic, the VW-BN1, which is no longer sold on Amazon. Why do I have these two? Because I have Canon and Panasonic HD camcorders and these devices offer a very easy way to transfer HD footage straight to a single or dual layer DVD. So, you ask, why did I buy a third...especially when I don't have a Sony camcorder? Because neither the Panasonic nor the Canon device will allow me to take footage that I shot in HD and transfer it to disc in SD format. This Sony unit does.

I have several relatives that do not own HD equipment and the only way to send them our family video is to put it in SD format. This Sony VRD-MC6 makes that transfer simple and painless. So far I have transferred about 12 discs. The other two devices mentioned above ONLY have connections for their respective camcorders and will only produce DVDs in the same format as recorded. With the composite connections on this Sony unit, you can pretty much take ANY HD player that has a composite out connection, connect it to this unit, and burn it to disc in SD format. So simple.

Things to note:

1. Nice little screen so that you can see what you are recording...none of the others have that.
2. HD footage recorded to dual layer will just about fit (in SD) on a single layer disc on this unit...with about five minutes on average that you'll have left that won't go on.
3. Interestingly, the Canon and Panasonic devices will only record dual layer discs in the DVD-R DL format, which are very hard to find. This device will record in the DVD+R DL format, which are fairly abundant. It will NOT accept DVD-R DL, but it will accept single layer DVD-R blank discs.
4. The size is compact enough to travel with, and it works on 110 as well as 240 volts. It does not have a "brick" at the plug, but it does have one mid-way through the cord (which converts the voltage, just like most camcorders). The Panasonic burner is wafer thin, and oddly, the Canon burner is ridiculously huge.
5. Remember that it will NOT record in HD for any camcorder except the Sony Handycam camcorders, but will record anything that can output via composite cables in the SD format.
6. Keep in mind that it does not "copy discs." Whatever is on the screen is what is being recorded. If, for example, you have a menu at the start of a disc that allows you to select a file to play, all this unit will do is record that screen until you start to play the video...thus the menu screen on the disc you create is pretty much useless.

It really is too bad that Panasonic or Canon did not allow this same input of composite cables (SD) as a recording option. Now, I burn from either of my camcorders via their respective device as HD and then I play the HD disc on my BD player and output it into this Sony burner to record an SD copy for the relatives. A little cumbersome, but for me it's less hassle than doing it all via the PC.

One last note: I bought a refurbished unit with an extended warranty, and even with the warranty included it was far cheaper than what the new ones cost. Most prices I saw for the brand new versions at the time of my purchase were way over what I was willing to spend. However, if I actually owned a Sony camcorder that would transfer HD video for burning I'd probably think otherwise.

I researched for quite some time on what case to get for my new P100. I definitely hit the nail square on the head.
Holds the camera snug and has enough clearance between the top for the OEM camera strap, and probably a good after market strap. The padding feels like a good 1/4" neoprene foam, sewn inside a good heavy tight nylon weave outside and a silky smooth nylon ripstop style inner lining. I use the zippered pocket inside the camera compartment lid-flap to hold my many SD cards. The zippered outside pockets easily hold my 2 extra batteries and wall/car charger and cords. smooth zippers too. The case shoulder strap adjusts long enough to carry diagonally across torso. I'm 5'11" and not skinny. It actually will hang low on the waistline when adjusted all the way out. There is a wide flush belt loop on the back too. I bought the a Zipshot tripod from Tamrac that straps perfect to the shoulder strap loops on the back using the tripods attached bungee straps. This is a great lite and compact rig. I am very happy with this camera bag. I plan on taking this rig everywhere I go. I don't want to miss that perfect shot again. I've heard that one before.

Even though I have been slowly weaning myself off of the newer Sony cameras, I still have some Sony devices that need memory pro duo cards. There are some advantages and a few disadvantages, namely the cost and availability. Sony's memory format averages 30 to 100 percent higher prices for the same capacity of SDHC cards. While that sucks, if you have a Sony Camera or a PSP there's not much you can do about it.

To that point, both the new Sony Cybershot DSCT300 Digital Camera and upcoming PSP God of War Entertainment Pack will benefit from any of these memory cards. Both of those devices, along with most Sony devices for that matter are only comaptible with the memory duo platform.

But like I said, if you need one of these cards, there are some advantages especially if you get a Mark II card. Namely, the performance speed of the mark II format is about 50% higher than the fastest available SDHC card at the moment. The rating is for 36 MB/s and what I've seen through some basic tests seems to indicate real performance close to this. In fact, the solid performance has to be the biggest pro for these cards. So while it sucks to have little choice, when you factor in the premium performance it's easier to swallow.

The 2 and 4 GB cards are a better value than larger capacity ones right now. Sometimes you want the largest card you can get, but till the 8 and 16 GB cards come down I see no reason to buy them. Not to mention, this isn't for my primary camera but for an older one that I use as a backup.

Make sure your device is compatible with the card. Some older electronics aren't compatible with larger capacities, although in general Sony has been better with making these guys backward compatible than others.

It's always a good idea to have several extra cards on hand just in case. This 4 GB card is a nice performer. If you have a high capacity camera (10 Megapixels or more) and are storing videos or RAW images, the extra cash for the 8GB card may be worth it if the price is right. Or you may want to step up to the larger 16 GB size that is now available. But if you wait a little longer you can save yourself some cash. I have to take off at least 1 star for value, but in terms of performance I couldn't be happier.

I have a Sony Bravia HDTV that has a "vivid" option that makes the picture crisp and vibrant for various input sources. However, this feature is disabled when the input is DVI(PC)to VGA(TV). So, if you are in the same boat this cable will fix this issue. Also, if you have VGA instead of DVI output on your PC, there's another cable just like this one that has "VGA to HDMI" on Amazon. Hope this helps someone.
